How to Register a New Gigaset Handset to Your Base Station

How to Register a New Gigaset Handset to Your Base Station

Just purchased an additional Gigaset handset? Or maybe you've invested in a multi-pack of phones, and need to register some of them to the base? This can be a little confusing if you don't know what you are doing. Not to worry, though- this handy guide will walk you through the process in just a few simple steps!

First of all, press and hold the paging key on your base station for around five seconds. Most bases will make a beep to tell you they are now in pairing mode. Some, like the GO box, won't beep, as they don't have a speaker built in. As long as you have held the button down for five seconds, though, the base will be ready to pair up with the handset.

Next, on your handset, open up the settings menu. Scroll down through the options that appear, until you find "registration". Press the select button, choose "register handset", and press the select button again. At this point, some handsets may ask you for a PIN. By default, this will be "0000". Wait a few seconds, and the handset should now be connected up to your base station!

Will I always need to pair a new handset to my base?

If you purchase a new set of phones, then at least one handset will come already paired to the base. However, the other handsets will likely need to be synced up one at a time.

Most Gigaset handsets will be able to connect to any Gigaset base station. You should note, though, that additional features such as Caller ID and contact push might not work properly on these additional handsets.
