Stylish, functional speaker

When I took the Evoke Spot in black/coffee colourway out of it's box I was immediately struck by how aesthetically pleasing it was. It is a compact, neat , stylish looking speaker which will fit in with many room styles, be it modern or retro. It was very easy to set up and easy to access a multitude of DAB radio channels. I linked it up to my Spotify with no problem and was up and running within minutes. The sound is good but I think with a little more adjustment I will be able to fine tune it further. It is currently a little bass heavy in my opinion. I wanted it for my kitchen as this is quite a family social hub! Background music or kitchen disco's, for a small compact and portable speaker it does the job perfectly adequately. If you want top quality sound this is maybe not for you, but for day to day family use its great and looks fantastic.

Pure Quality

The Pure Evoke Spot nicely combines DAB, FM and internet radio stations to give you more options than you could ever need. You can also use it as a Bluetooth speaker (which works well) and link your Spotify account (but not your Amazon Music or others). The instruction leaflet is short on words, instead relying on diagrams, but fortunately it is all fairly straightforward with the setup wizard guiding you through. Internet connection relies on pressing the WPS button on your router, which is quite unusual, but does the job and saves you typing in the password..

All the DAB stations are listed for you, and you can scan through all the FM ones. Some of these are identified on the screen, some aren't but I suspect that is more down to the individual stations. There is a huge range of internet stations and podcasts which can be broken down by genre or location, or you can manually enter the name of one although this is a bit fiddly with the controls. You can store up to ten DAB and ten FM stations although there are rather bizarrely only 4 preset buttons so to get to presets 6-10 you have to go through the menus. Up to 40 internet stations can be saved, not sure why the other 2 sources are so limited.

Its small size means you can have it perched beside you (assuming you are near a power socket as there is no battery option) which is just as well as there is no remote control. You can apparently use the UNDOK app but this requires the IP address from the settings menu and as mine just shows 0.0.0.0 I was unable to use the app (which I already had for another device).

This is a neat little unit, delivering good sound (with a basic bass/treble equaliser) from a huge range of available broadcasts.

Simple Small Stylish

I bought this Pure for my kitchen where space is a premium so this Evoke Spot was perfect. Came in minimal but very secure packaging, all re-cycled and or recyclable. Plugged in and the setup wizard immediately went to work and very quickly did the basics with date and time for me. I had to work through to the 3rd option to connect to my internet but that one worked like a dream and within minutes had my favourite radio stations found and stored in the presets. The quick guide supplied is enough to get you up and running. Volume and sound very clear and certainly plenty more in the knob than I need. I have the Black Coffee version but would actually prefer a pure black version ( excuse the pun). No techie skills required to set up, but will probably have to use the more detailed online guide to find out more about what it can do and optimal ways to use it.

Best bang for your buck!

I received my Evoke Spot very recently and I have fallen in love with it! This is an example where size truly does not matter as this unit sure packs a punch!

The sound is really amazing and I love the rich tone!It was cinch to set up using the dial and buttons on top and following the actions on the pop-up screen.I performed a scan for all the DAB+FM stations and found thousands available from all around the world.I was able to save my favourites as shortcuts for convenience.I also like the way you can select different modes of equalisers to suit your preferred sound.

It plays all my Spotify playlists seamlessly as it links up to my account with no issues at all.
There is no remote control but I have downloaded the "Undok" app as recommended by another buyer and this works brilliantly.

I look forward to enjoying my Evoke Spot further - discovering the podcasts section, etc.

I have a couple of gripes however.
I have tried to use it as a Bluetooth speaker but this did not work very well. It was very stuttered so that was disappointing.

The other recommendation I would make for the unit would be to have a light under the buttons at the top (like on the power button) as I feel that would be useful.

Overall I would recommend my buy highly because of the sound clarity and features the Spot has. It is also very stylish and is ideal for a smaller flat or bedsit I feel.
