Viking Kestrel ED 8x25 Compact Binoculars

The only problem we have found so far, not had chance to use them yet, is the eyepiec covers do not attach to the strap. The covers will be lost before long, slightly disappointing

Arrived the next day, and these are just what I wanted: lightweight, compact yet sturdy and feel great in the hands. The dual hinge allows 'folding down' to pocket size with the central focus wheel perfectly placed for quick and easy focusing and the optics are sharp and bright. My only niggle (hence 4 stars) is that the strap is not adjustable and more suited to heavier binoculars worn over the neck, I prefer to wear them across the shoulder for comfort when walking and even for me as a 5'2" petite this is too short.

Wante to purchase a pair of compact binoculars to take with us on holiday. Website gave very informative comparison of high quality products available to assist the novice buyer.

Despite their compact size I find these to offer incredibly bright and clear images even in fading daylight. I find the ED glass does make a difference having gone from a cheaper pair without - the comparison in image quality is stark with these providing a very sharp and clear image. The build quality is very solid if just a little crude though given the price I think this is fair. The included accessories arent much to write home about either and Id recommend using a smaller strap as the one that comes with it when folded is the same size as for a full-sized binocular and takes up more space (though is comfortable to wear). Overall, Im very impressed as these have exceeded my expectations for performance and value for money. Thank you!
