Our Verdict: Incredible value - warm, comfortable and well made!
- Thermal hood with draw cord
- Shoulder baffle with draw cord
- Full length 2 way zip
We were mightily impressed with the Highlander Rayet 450, a mummy-shaped sleeping bag for all-seasons when we tested in the Scottish Highlands during late winter, early spring. So much so that we've rated it our Best Buy All-Rounder for Value. Equipped with Highlanders superior fibre fill which is designed to be durable, warm and lightweight, this sleeping bag held up well in conditions close to freezing. It is a little on the bulkier side at just over 2kg but retains its loft and has a nice soft touch (and you’ll be grateful for the added warmth if you’re braving the elements!). It has a comfort rating of -1ºC and a lower rating of -7ºC so it’s not designed for Arctic use and you should check the forecast before your adventure. The anti-snag zip worked well in testing though only time and regular use will tell if it measures up consistently. At under £100 you won't get a better all-round all-season sleeping bag!

Our Verdict: In our opinion this is the best down sleeping bag on the market!
- Lightweight: Total Weight of 1.1kg
- Performance Usability: 4 Season
- 20D 380T Nylon Outer Shell Fabric: Durable and Water Resistant
The Vango Cobra 600 is in our opinion the best down sleeping bag on the market offering better comfort, performance, and value for money than more expensive alternatives. Featuring a Welded Box Wall construction the ergonomically fitting design is ideally suited for camping in cold weather. Whilst we didn’t have the opportunity to test the most extreme temperature ranges, the Cobra 600 fared impressively thourgh the night just below freezing. The box-shaped baffle channels filled with down offered good loft and the down was evenly distributed, which helped keep us warm and cozy. And Vango independently test all their sleeping bags to ensure that their temperature ratings are reliably accurate. If you’re in the need for an all-season sleeping bag then the Cobra 600 is the best of the best!
